New Jersey gets over 35 applicants for license

New Jersey’s Gaming enforcement has stated that to date they have received 36 applications for betting licenses for the new online gambling that is set to begin before year end. The deadline for applicants was this past Tuesday and a rush of applications came through before the deadline, which was set earlier this year.

The list included a dozen casinos currently operating in Atlantic City that have agreements with established online operators to assist them with their transition to offering e-gaming services. This includes the likes of 888.com and PokerStars.

David Rebuck, the Director for the Gaming enforcement stated “We are looking at this as round one of filings and we expect we will see more applications for licensing once the internet betting begins in New Jersey”. He further states that “We will not be disclosing what sites are applying for licensing until such time as we have included them on our website”

Currently it is known that groups include Bwin.Party, Boyd Gaming and 888.com. Some of those have made announcements regarding this so it has become common knowledge.
